He solved many a perplexing murder mystery during his time on Saint Marie and even formed a will-they-won’t-they relationship with colleague Detective Sergeant Camille Bordey (Sara Martins). Though Goodman’s estranged wife attempted to reconcile with him during Death In Paradise's season 3 finale, the detective decided island life was for him. The deadpan Poole arrived in Saint Marie to investigate the murder of a British detective stationed there and ended up staying until he too was murdered in the show’s season 3 premiere.
